Ponoko was released today (I think at TechCrunch40).

Sign up and start making stuff! If you smoke or drink you’ll be used to addiction, so go right ahead.

A few months ago I made this long table and this square table. You can see my Ponoko profile, and see the case study about my table.

Supervery Sue and I are collaborating on our next Ponoko project. It’s going to kick ass.

Update: My table was featured on BoingBoing (how cool is that?) and m-net.

I’ll be there until December 2. We arrive on the 10th, and I’ll be in Chicago from Thanksgiving (the 22nd) to the end… we’re also going to New York and to D.C. if you’d be keen on coming over then? Let me know!

Mr. Wegesin! Hi Jeff, how are you? Sounds like good reading a bit on your pages here. I’ve spent the last 4 years in Boulder, Colorado, but think I will move this coming spring. I’m thinking about NZ among other places, (I have a climbing addiction the Southern Alps would be good for) and wanted to pick your brain a bit some time. Give me a shout back if you’d be up for that. Thanks so much, happy travels, -matt

I love that you’re table is getting comments! So great! I was looking at the Ponoko site and was wondering…is there a cost to do the designs in the first place? It’s such a great idea, and I love Sue’s jewelry, too. Can’t wait to see what you do together! And where the hell is New Caledonia???

  5. Jeff says:

Jenna! Yup you have to eat the cost to produce your design in the beginning, but you probably can earn the money back if your object sells. It’s not the cheapest to have something made, but at least it’s exactly what you want.

NC is to the north east of Australia and is next to Vanuatu. It’s completely French. They seem to have lots of little islands scattered throughout the world. 40 days until I’m back in the states! :)
