This is the second iteration of my table produced with Ponoko (here is my post about the first table).
The top of the table is now square, and the legs are wider. This version measures 37cm (about 14.5 inches) wide, 37cm deep, and 45cm (about 18 inches) high. As you can see the top sits just below a bed. The woods used are cherrywood and rimu (veneer MDF, 1cm thick).

If you would like to purchase one please email me - jeffrey@jwegesin.com. I will email you the price, and if you’re in America there’s a chance it will be shipped from the States to your home (so you might not have to pay for shipping from New Zealand). If you would like the first iteration you can purchase that as well, just email me what you’d like. It’s easy to put together, and if you’re in Wellington I can help you build it (if you’d like).
You will be supporting me and my endeavors, and you will also be supporting Ponoko)! There are limited amount of tables I can produce as the services of Ponoko are not yet publicly available.
Two days ago I ordered glass for the top. I receive that next Wednesday. I’ll post photos of the finished table before I give it to Andy!
1. The daylight makes the table whiter than it is.
2. Yes, the lamp isn’t plugged in, as I’m giving this table to Andy. The color of the table is accurate in this photo.

Today Catherine said, “I brought you a bikkie today!”
I was confused. A bikkie?
Bikkie is an abbreviation for “biscuit” (a biscuit is a cookie, which was very tasty by the way!).
In New Zealand English it’s okay to end words with an “ie.” See if you know what these words (Kiwi slang) might be:
- gummie
- hottie
- rellie
- scarfie
- sunnie
- wellie
- brekkie
- kornie
- mozzie
- sickie
- chrissie
- sammie
- brickie
- wharfie
- barbie (not the doll)
- pressie1
- cuzzie3
- chippie3
- pommie3
- tinnie6
- kiddie
- sparkie11
- reckie14
- flattie18
- possie21
Maybe they’re trying to put the “kiw-ie” in common words? Feel free to add to this list…

I went skiing last weekend with Louise and Anouk. Here’s a photo of Mount Ngauruhoe at sunset from the side of the road.

I’m going to Australia in August to compete against the Aussies for FullCodePress 2007!
Each team (New Zealand and Australia) will build a website in one day for a non-profit organization.
“At the end of 24 hours, a team of judges will review both sites and select the winner. International pride, bragging rights and a trophy will follow for the winning team.”
Wish us luck!
