Cruising and bruising

This morning, Vicky and I were complaining. We do that. “I’m sick,” Vicky said.

“That sucks. I feel dizzy from sailing.”

“You went sailing? How’d that go?” she asked.

“Well. I dropped my overalls into the ocean (the overalls that protect me and my clothes from salt water), a kamikaze seagull gunned for me as his wingman dropped bombs of shit on the boat, and the instructor threw Bob the buoy overboard and told us to save him. It took us two hours. Bob died.”

“…”

“Oh, and the wind stopped me from rowing the dinghy to shore.”

“What?”

“Yea. I suck at rowing. I don’t weigh enough, either. Someone towed me ashore because the wind was too strong.”

“…”

“It’s ok. I thought it was fun!”

Actually, sailing kicked my ass. The water was rough and the gusts were relentless, yet I still learned:

We’re sailing at night next weekend. I hope we don’t get lost!

My Dad has almost killed me on three different occasions. Once, because I was being an ass. Twice because we were stuck on a sailboat in the middle of a storm.

Good luck, man. Eat more protein.

Also, proof that you can go places even with a ridiculous name:

Check the name in the photo caption.

I’m stuffing my stomach with peanut butter. I think you’re right, and boats are places where people are angered easily. Even I was angry when we couldn’t rescue Bob. I even heard the instructor call a student useless (I thought so, too).

That name is so great! I sent it to Isha.

I don’t remember the name, but it was near Limon. Maybe Puerto Viejo or San Andreas? By Limon either way…
